I have used a lot of different paint mediums, and I prefer to use acrylic paints. Being a person with disabilities makes painting in traditional ways (like using an easel) difficult for me, so I have learned how to find new ways to paint. I use a card table for large paintings so I can lean on it while painting, standing up and sitting down when needed. For smaller paintings, I can lean back on the couch while holding small canvases on a tray. It has been a process of learning how to reuse my hands after having my neck rebuilt for the second time, but I can’t think of a better therapy for me. In a world of so much pain and sadness, flowers offer so much beauty and color.
